We are now home, well at my parents' home! It felt so good to go outside, take a hot shower, and relax at home! Harrison has had a great time playing with his toys, many new ones thanks to some sweet friends! He took a bath and played around before heading to bed for a nap. Overall he is doing really well.
You can tell that his tongue feels weird to him (it is still very swollen) because he moves it around and tries to touch it. This also tells us that it is not hurting him; however it is very weird and I think scary to him. He HATES eating!!!!! For those of you who know Harrison this should tell you how uncomfortable it must be for him. It has become a battle of the wills. We always knew Harrison was strong willed, and he is showing how strong willed he truly is. He wants the bottle, but then ones he gets it in his mouth he just freaks out. I know that it does not hurt because once it is in for a moment here or there he will calm down and swallow, but then just freak out when he has to try to get some more out of the bottle. I feel very bad for him, but I am not going to let his fear get in the way (this is not just my take this is what the nurse who works with kids who have had tongue surgery has found over the years). Please just keep praying for him to be calm and want to eat!
