Pediatric surgeons are dreamy

We are becoming convinced that pediatric surgeons don't actually exist. We're finally going this Monday to WashU to meet the peds surgeons and the NICU team, tour the place, and have another ultrasound/biophysical profile/nonstress test. (Here's a good website to get some info on what they're going to do: webmd.com/baby/biophysical-profile-bpp) Anyway, we have been trying to schedule this visit for a long time, but our coordinator Kathy told us that she couldn't seem to get the surgery team to get back to her. So, we started to wonder if it would ever happen when, last week, she called me to say that it has finally been scheduled WITHOUT hearing from the surgeons with the hope that they would find a way to make it to our appointment. They are in clinic that day as well, so it should work out, she says. We trust her, but it's sort of crazy. Anyway, Abbey has been having contractions, which is sort of early at 31 4/7 weeks, and the biophysical profile last week revealed a higher than normal amnionic fluid index of 27. This could explain why she's having contractions, and it is not necessarily indicative of anything wrong. The doctors are not very concerned at this point, so we have decided to relax a bit about it too. As we've told many of you, we do not believe that our baby's life is in our hands, so our hearts are at peace with that.
