Harrison's Hospital Stay

Since Sunday night Harrison has had some difficulty breathing.  He sounded terrible when he woke up in the middle of the night Sunday so he had to go to the doctor on Monday.  His oxygen levels were fine so they sent him home and told us to continue our home breathing treatments.  Monday night he was up from midnight on coughing, he sounded like a barking seal, so I sat debating all day Tuesday if I should take him in again.  Of course right at lunch time, when the doctor is gone at lunch, Harrison went into distress because of his breathing so I took him to the ER.  Scott met us there and they gave him a steroid and a breathing treatment we can't do at home.  He recovered and was great for the five hours following in the ER so they sent us home.  We went home and he seemed pretty good Tuesday night just woke up coughing a few times.  Wednesday, he went to his follow up at the pediatrician and on the way there Harrison started having trouble breathing again.  They measure his O2 levels and they were too low so they wanted him admitted.  I told them I would take him to the University where Scott was working.  

So we ended up in the ER again and they admitted to the peds floor.  They said he has  bad case of the croup.  He has been here since, getting better; however not as quickly as they had thought.  They thought one night would be enough, but through the first night and now the second night he needed oxygen so they are keeping him a bit longer.  

Please pray that Harrison's croup does not turn into anything bacterial and that he can sleep without oxygen tonight. 

After 2 days of being tied down because of his monitors he is finally allowed to be "unplugged" for a while and run the halls.  They actually have a great play room here that he has enjoyed.  Here are a few pics of his life on the peds floor.  Harrison loves the Cozy Coop Car and has spent hours in it or pushing it since yesterday afternoon.

We call this his little prison cell.  He does not seem to mind it too much.
