Breathing Treatments

I have been meaning to post for a week now to let everyone know that Harrison has been having a hard time getting over his cough at night. He continues to wake up during the night and have a lot of trouble breathing because of his coughing. We went back to the pediatrician, and he prescribed an albuterol nebulizer three times a day. These treatments really seemed to help, and he has been much better overall. Harrison fought us during the first few breathing treatments, but soon he did fairly well once we equated the inhaler mask and watching The Little Einsteins on TV. So, he now thinks that, for Little Einsteins to play, the mask must be on. So, with this report of improved symptoms on these medications, we returned to the doctor and he was diagnosed with childhood asthma--well we hope he will only have it as a child. From what the physician told us and what we have read, the incidence of asthma is not increased in children with Beckwith Wiedemann, so they are seemingly unrelated. Nevertheless, he is going to continue to take the meds for allergies/asthma and then add the albuterol breathing treatments as needed. Hopefully he can get over all of this soon.
