Well, we made it to the second day, and we are already beginning to see signs of the boy he was before "the event", as we now call what the mean doctors did to his tongue. Overnight was a bit rough. He would try to suck his thumb with the right hand, would realize that all was not well, and then would turn his head to the left to suck that one instead, looking desperately for something familiar. He would go back and forth six or seven times before whimpering and tearing up. It was pretty heartbreaking for everybody to watch.
However, this morning was a new day. He is starting to smile though is still very reserved about the whole thing. He wants to sleep a lot and cuddle up in Abbey's arms, but there has been a lot of play time too.
He looks a little shell-shocked half of the time, but we just think he's plotting his revenge.
